They were also one of the first Americans to learn about the concept. In 1981, The Herman Goelitz Company, which is now called the Jelly Belly Candy Company, began producing one of the very first made in America Gummi bears. In the following year The Haribo Company saw the big market waiting to be discovered for them in America. United States and brought their company to the United States. In the year 2000, Gummi Bears were very easily accessible to the American general public.
Alongside being a haven for American bears, the decade of 1980s saw the birth of a fresh Gummi cartoon character. The Trolli created The Gummi Worms in 1981. The worm was created as a result of an original concept that sought to create confections for children that might irritate or even anger their parents. The Gummi Worm however turned out to be less offensive and more of a classic character from the universe of Gummi. Nowadays, there are a variety of Gummi characters, aside from the bear and worm. These Gummi candy candies are sold in a wide range of size and shape.
Due to its growing popularity, Disney created an action-packed animated show for kids in 1985. The show featured the bear family as well as their many adventure. This show titled “The The Adventures of Gummi Bears” and ran for a total of 65 episodes.
A lot of people are curious about how they’re made , when they go through a box of candy called Gummi. What people don’t realize is that making these confections of candy is a time-consuming process.
It begins with the artists of the company that manufactures this product. They draw sketches of characters which they make into small molds made of clay. They are reproduced using an automated system. The duplicates go through a machine which produces starch, which is the basis for pans of mold made from starch powder are made. Pans made of starch are then sent on to the factories.
In the candy manufacturing plant, certain ingredients such as gelatin sugar and glucose syrup are placed in large, deep boilers which heat the ingredients and then stirred with paddles that are big continuously. As they stir, the chosen flavors and colors are added to give the candy with a distinctive look and taste. After the mixture has been heated, it is then poured into pipes, which transport the mixture to the area for production in the manufacturing facility.
The top of the pipes is a nozzle that can be used to squeeze the mix out onto starch boards, which contain molds in various models. The candy is set for 3 to 5 weeks. Once it is ready, beeswax is able to be added to the mold to give it a glimmer and make the candy easier to handle. After drying the candy is moved via a packaging machine and then removed and ready to go to candy shops in various locations.
Today, Gummi Bears, Worms and other sweets are enjoyed and loved by children all over the globe throughout the year.
